I grew up in Southern California as one of four siblings. In my teens, my brother took me to the teen group at Huntington Beach Church of Religious Science, where Michelle Medrano was an assistant minister.
I was taken in by the incredibly supportive and caring spaces created there. I immediately knew that was what I wanted to do—create sacred spaces for deep conversation, authenticity and inspiration.
By the time I was eighteen, I was a licensed practitioner and helped run the teen group and camps. Although becoming a minister still sounded too holy, I was already engaging in that kind of life. So after declaring, “What the hell?” I began ministerial school and graduated in 2006.
My first ministry was a focus ministry that targeted young adults and agnostics. We rented an improv comedy club and had mixed results, but it sure was fun! Soon after, I became an assistant minister in San Diego and in 2010 I was thrilled to receive a call to become a co-senior minister with Rev. Peggy Price in Seal Beach, CA. I became their sole senior minister in 2011. Seal Beach taught me to be the minister I am today.
In 2015, Dr. Roger Teel invited me to guest speak at Mile Hi Church. After much struggle and sadness with leaving a job and life I loved in Seal Beach, I moved to Colorado in 2017 to start this new blessed journey.
