Rev. Shannon O'Hurley

Associate Minister

Prior to joining Mile Hi Church, Rev Shannon spent several years serving as the Associate Minister at the New Thought Center for Spiritual Living in Oregon. There she was the Director of Education where she implemented innovative and cutting edge curriculum, growing their Education Ministry exponentially. In addition to education, Rev. Shannon has a heart for service and a deep commitment to supporting Practitioners. While in Oregon, she also served as both the Director of the Practitioner and Pastoral Care Programs.

In addition to her masters degree in Consciousness Studies from the Holmes Institute, she holds a second masters from Portland State University in Conflict Resolution and Peace-building with an emphasis on inter-religious dialogue and mediation. She has a passion for inter-faith work and peace building among the world’s religions. In 2011, Rev. Rev. Shannon is known for her inspiring, down to earth and always entertaining speaking style. Prior to her call to ministry, she did her undergraduate work at the Boston Conservatory of Music and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. The Interfaith/Multicultural Ministry (I AM) Team

The I AM team has over 350 members involved in all areas our mission.

The Ministry Team is divided into 4 sub-teams.
The Peace Crane Project – Our recognition of peace in our times. Origami Cranes are using within this ministry for sharing Spiritual healing energy with communities and congregants.

– SEVA means selfless service. This team is the basis for the First Responder program and support.

– Education is actively involved in our ‘field trips’ (such as candlelight vigils and visits to other communities) as well as managing the education tables in the Sanctuary Lobby before and after each I AM Service.

– Work with the Interfaith/Multicultural program manager on our grass roots efforts, research and outreach.

In addition, all practitioners are invited to represent the practitioner core during the Sunday evening services (wear your stole, 1 CLU)

Every other month, the I AM team immerses in a different tradition. Part education, part service and all immersive. Join us and expand.
Past visits have included: Friday Prayers at the Mosque and Prayer Vigils at the Colorado Muslim Society
